Frequently Asked Questions

At Brown and Freeman, LLC we understand that financial planning is the key to achieving your long-term goals and objectives and we encourage everyone to have a unique, detailed plan. We also believe the best way to help form a sound financial strategy is by getting to know you.

Why use a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional?

For more than 30 years, The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification has been the standard of excellence for financial planners. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® professionals have met extensive training and experience requirements and commit to CFP Board's ethical standards that require them to put their clients' interests first. As CFP® professionals, we are trained to help you develop a comprehensive strategy to reach your short and long-term financial goals which gives you confidence today and more security for tomorrow.

What is the Financial Planning Process?

Typically, we will spend 20 to 40 hours developing your initial plan. We gather all the pieces of your financial puzzle, with focus on your cashflows in and out. We project out your financial future to determine if there are any gaps and develop strategies to either fill the gaps or increase your wealth. Then we will assist you with implementing the plan based on the path you choose. With your participation, we will review and update your plan at least annually to assure you stay on track.

What do we charge for Financial Planning?

If we are managing your investments in excess of $250,000, we do not charge any additional fees for financial planning. If you do not meet our minimum, we may consider a combination of fixed, hourly and investment management fees.

What are our Investment Management Fees?

Our fee structure is based on the market value of the investments that we are managing for you. If your portfolio does better, we do better.  Likewise, if your portfolio goes down, so do our fees. This fee structure aligns your interests with ours.
